I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Campsmount Academy. It is a privilege to lead such a great school, and I am excited to be part of a community that values both academic success and the well-being of its students.
With 18 years of experience in education as a teacher, leader, and in school improvement, I am eager to bring my knowledge and passion to Campsmount Academy. Previously, I served as Deputy Headteacher at Ridgewood School, where I led on behaviour, inclusion, and safeguarding. Now, as Headteacher of Campsmount Academy, I look forward to working alongside our talented staff and students to make our school a truly great place for the community we serve. Together, we can ensure that our students enjoy their time at school, make excellent progress, and are well-prepared for the future.
I am Deputy Headteacher at Campsmount Academy. I joined Campsmount in 2013 as a Head of Faculty and in 2016 I joined the academy's senior leadership team. As Deputy Headteacher for Inclusion, I lead several teams of staff who are passionate about student wellbeing, attendance and behaviour and I am also the academy's Designated Safeguarding Leader.
I am delighted to introduce myself as the Deputy Headteacher for Quality of Education. This includes curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning and personal development. I also oversee the academy's reading and literacy strategy, as well as line managing English and Humanities. If you have any questions relating to your child's progress, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We would love to hear from you and talk all about the brilliant things that happen at Campsmount Academy.
After over 20 years of working with Campsmount students and their families in a range of roles, I presently oversee data, exams and Campsmount LEARN. I line manage Technology and Art. I am also the school's Early Career's Framework lead, supporting new staff entering the profession.
Since joining Campsmount Academy in 2002, I consider it a privilege to have worked in a variety of different roles over the years, as a teacher of History, Progress Leader and Head of Department. From 2016, I have been part of the academy Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher, previously as SENDCo, and now as Inclusion Lead. I thoroughly enjoy supporting students in our community.
Since becoming a teacher of Geography over 20 years ago, I have worked in a number of schools across South Yorkshire. I joined Campsmount in 2013 as Head of Humanities and have since moved into the role of Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Attendance. I believe that all students have a right to work in a calm, supportive and purposeful school environment to become the best version of themselves today for success tomorrow. I am privileged to lead the pastoral team and support teaching staff in promoting the highest standards of behaviour as well devising a range of rewards to acknowledge and value students' efforts and achievements through our thriving House System.
I am currently starting my 8th year teaching at Campsmount Academy. My main subjects are ICT and Computer Science but I have taught a variety of different subjects over the years. I have also had other roles within the school, such as Innovation Lead and Progress Leader, before recently being appointed as an Associate Assistant Headteacher. In my new role, I have the privilege of working closely with the Deputy Headteacher for Behaviour and Inclusion, our students, as well as the wider community, offering my support and providing exciting opportunities for all to engage with. Having attended Campsmount as a student myself, I am dedicated to ensuring Campsmount is the best it can be, for all.
I joined Campsmount in 2017 as a Teacher of Religious Studies. Since then, I have worked in a range of roles, such as English Teacher, Y11 Progress Leader, Lead Practitioner of Religious Studies and Life Skills, and I am currently Associate Assistant Headteacher for Personal Development, working closely alongside the Deputy Headteacher for Quality of Education. I am always keen to hear what students think and feel about the world and encourage students to think deeply about concepts that are relevant to everyday life. I am passionate about ensuring that our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge that enable them to be healthy, safe and responsible members of society.
I have worked at Campsmount Academy for over 25 years. I teach Modern Foreign Languages and Travel and Tourism for Key Stage 4 of which I am the lead. Alongside this, I am the Progress Leader for Year 7 and Transition Lead, supporting the exciting transition of students from Year 6 at their primary school, to Year 7 at Campsmount.
I have worked at Campsmount since 2014, following the completion of my ITT placement as a History teacher. During the following three years, I led Wider Learning supporting students to develop their character, culture and currency. In 2018, I was appointed as Progress Leader which is a role I held for 2 years before I took a maternity break. I have returned both to History and the role of Progress Leader since my return.
I have been a part of the Campsmount team since 2016. During that time, my role has changed from primarily teaching science to becoming a Progress Leader working closely with the pastoral team since 2018.
