Thrive at Campsmount

The Thrive Approach is a dynamic, developmental and trauma sensitive approach to meeting the emotional and social needs of children of all ages. The Thrive Approach at Campsmount

We have developed a Thrive room within Campsmount which allows us to work more closely with students, families and external agencies to get the best outcomes for our children and families.

The Thrive Approach is used at Campsmount to teach students:

  • what their behaviour and feelings mean
  • new ways of responding to situations
  • ways to reshape their stress
  • self regulation
  • how to improve their emotional resilience
  • increased emotional literacy
  • greater ability to engage with life and learning

How does it work at Campsmount?

The Thrive approach is a way of assessing and supporting children’s emotional and social development. These assessments can then be used to provide personalised programmes for groups and individuals.

Children who need more support will meet regularly with a trained Thrive practitioner in small groups or one-to-one, to focus on their learning needs together.

With the support of Thrive, we will endeavour to help children and young people to:

  • Feel good about themselves
  • Know that they matter
  • Become more resilient and resourceful
  • Have a positive place in society
  • Form trusting, rewarding relationships
  • Be creative
  • Be compassionate and empathetic
  • Be thoughtful and self-aware
  • Be productive
  • Be able to overcome difficulties and setbacks

Should you have any further questions regarding the Thrive approach at Campsmount, please speak to our trained practitioner by contacting the academy:

Many students have already benefited from and continue to benefit from the Thrive approach with a very positive and successful result.
